Several Grimes County True Blue board members attended a Benefit for HPD Senior Officer Chase Cormier held at the Montgomery County Fair Grounds. Cormier, an HPD Helicopter Pilot for the Air Operations Unit, was the sole survivor in a May 2020 helicopter crash that killed HPD Tactical Officer Jason Knox.
Board members spoke with the benefit headliner, County Music Legend Neal McCoy, about the newly formed foundation. As a fellow Texan, and supporter of Law Enforcement, he loves and supports the foundations mission. He has committed to being the headliner for the Grimes County True Blue Banquet that will be held on November 20, 2021 .
Grimes County True Blue Foundation recently asked Facebook fans to nominate their favorite LEO for a chance for them to win their own Guardian Angel Device.
We are happy to announce our first winner is Officer Jason Zielonka. Jason, an eleven year veteran of the Houston Police Department, has currently been with College Station P.D. for three years.
Grimes County True Blue Foundation donated Guardian Angel Devices to all Grimes County Law Enforcement Agencies. Guardian Angel Devices are LED lights that clip to the officers uniform on their shoulder, increasing visibility to others (up to 5 miles) with strobes, a flash light and a helicopter beacon as they work in the dark.
The agencies/departments include Grimes County Sheriff's Department, Navasota P.D. , Todd Mission P.D. , DPS , Constables Prct 1, 2 and 3, Texas Rangers, Cattle Rangers and The Grimes County Game Warden.
This is just the beginning of what our foundation has in-store.
